Thousands are expected to descend on Wybunbury next week at the popular and quirky Wybunbury fig pie wakes event.
It sees villages competing to roll their fig pies the furthest down the village high street.
By Jonathan White Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy a Nantwich village tradition at the annual Wybunbury Fig Pie Wakes. The event, organised by Wybunbury Tower Preservation Trust, dates back at least 200 years.
Three friends from a Nantwich village celebrated their 50th birthdays – by raising vital cash for a local Scout group. Rick Carter, Ade Peever and Giles Semper teamed up to hold a joint party at The Swan Inn, in Wybunbury.
