Nantwich Town put five past Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Worksop Town in their First Round Qualifying tie of the FA Cup.
A brace from debutant Aaron Knight helped the Dabbers to victory, as well as a superb free-kick from James Lawrie, a header from Callum Saunders (pictured) and a rifling half-volley from Steve Jones.
By James Briscoe Nantwich Town were unable to blunt Worksop’s famed attack and were beaten 3-1 at the promotion chasers. But it could have been a different story after the Dabbers had taken an early lead.
By James Briscoe Nantwich Town boss Danny Johnson blasted his side’s 3-2 home defeat by Worksop Town as “totally unacceptable”. Johnson criticised the team’s “incconsistency” as the Dabbers struggle to put a decent run of form together.
