Organisers of Nantwich’s annual Words and Music Festival have vowed to stage something a little differently this year.
The coronavirus pandemic means the usual week-long festival of packed live performances across dozens of venues in October cannot go ahead.
Well-known environmental journalist and author Patrick Barkham will be appearing in Nantwich during the Words and Music Festival.
Barkham will be in Nantwich to talk about his recent book “Islander”.
South Cheshire singer Megan Lee will be wowing the crowds when she performs at Oddfellows Arms in Nantwich during this week’s Words and Music Festival.
Megan, who recently released an album with words and music festival director Nigel Stonier, is an acclaimed singer known throughout Cheshire and the North West.
The 11th Nantwich Words and Music Festival was launched to a packed room of performers, volunteers and guests at Nantwich Civic Hall last night.

A Nantwich woman has won the Words & Music Festival’s first songwriting competition.
Abbie Frances scooped top prize and along with second and third place, she performed at The Crown Hotel in Nantwich on the final night of the week-long festival.
The tenth Words and Music Festival in Nantwich is hitting all the right notes with fans, say organisers.

Headline acts for the week-long festival included Barbara Dickson, Gruff Rhys, Thea Gilmore, The Christians and poet Kim Moore.
