Tributes have been paid to a former headteacher and key community leader in Wistaston who has died.
John Charles White, who was born in Suffolk in 1939, played a major role in many of Wistaston’s community events.

The 63rd Cancer Research UK Xmas Fair took place at Wistaston Memorial Hall, Church Lane.
The annual event was organised by the Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK Group.
Hundreds of ducks will be racing each other at Wistaston’s annual duck race event this weekend.
The Wistaston Memorial Hall & Community Centre Annual Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race takes place on Saturday at Recreation Ground, Joey the Swan.

South Cheshire George Formby Ukulele Society has celebrated its 20th anniversary at a concert in Wistaston Memorial Hall.
The event included group and solo ukulele performances, a harmonica solo, plus solo and duet singing.

Sixteen teams battled it out over six rounds of ten questions at Wistaston Memorial Hall’s annual quiz for the Fred Lorimer trophy.
The quiz-setters were Peter and Christina Wainwright who had organised their second quiz at the hall.
Hundreds of families are expected at this weekend’s Wistaston Village Fete, which takes place on Saturday June 21. The fete will begin with a procession which will leave Wistaston Memorial Hall at 1.30pm.
By Jonathan White Wistaston Memorial Hall was crammed full with music lovers for the village’s annual Spring Concert. Crewe Concert Band , under musical director and conductor Albert Dunseath, performed a mix of music from jazz, musicals, to a Frank Sinatra tribute.

Teams are being invited to enter the annual quiz for the Fred Lorimer Trophy in Wistaston, near Nantwich. The quiz will take place in Wistaston Memorial Hall and Community Centre on Church Lane, Wistaston, on Tuesday October 22.

By Jonathan White More than 60 people halped to raise around £400 at the popular Wistaston Jubilee Proms concert. The concert, in Wistaston Memorial Hall, was performed by the Crewe Concert Band under musical director Albert Dunseath.
