Twenty local walkers and dogs enjoyed a gentle stroll around Wistaston – to sustain an old bye-law in the village!
The event was organised by Helen Gould, one of the Wistaston Community helpers, and the route lasted 90 minutes over 2.5 miles of the village fields.

Villagers turned out in force to enjoy the 37th annual Wistaston Fireworks Display.
The event included children’s best pumpkin and best fancy dress competitions at the Park Drive/Church Lane junction.

By Jonathan White The 36th annual Wistaston Fireworks Display went off with a bang as hundreds of villagers came out to support the events. The event began with the judging of the children’s best pumpkin and best fancy dress competitions.
The Wistaston Community Council fireworks display takes place on November 2. The event, which starts at 6.30pm, is being staged at the Eric Swan Sports Ground (The Brittles) behind Wistaston Church Lane Primary School.

By Jonathan White A beacon to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will be lit at the top of the St Mary’s Church tower in Wistaston. The lighting will take place at 10.15pm on June 4 and should be visible over a wide area.
A spellbound audience watched The Kipling Singers perform a concert in St Mary’s Church Hall in Wistaston. The Kipling Singers are a group of ten people who performed a range of classic songs from muscials and stage shows.
