Wrenbury dads raise thousands with Coast to Coast bike ride

Four dads from Wrenbury have raised thousands of pounds for Wingate Children’s Centre after cycling the iconic ‘Coast to Coast’ route from Workington in Cumbria to Sunderland.

Tom Robinson, Oliver Caunce, Josh Walker and Scott Heirene, plus support driver Scott Caunce, took on the gruelling challenge which saw them pedal through the Lake District National Park.

The Wingate Children Centre’s popular Teddy Bear’s Picnic event is set to be held in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle on July 8.

The family fun day is now in its eighth year and helps raise valuable funds for the Wrenbury-based charity near Nantwich.

Fundraisers help buy specialist bed for Wingate Centre children

Children using the Wingate Children’s Centre near Nantwich will now have access to a new specialist bed.

The Wingate trust in Wrenbury needed the “rise and fall” bed to provide a safer and more accessible sleeping environment for the children with cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and those on the autism spectrum.

Nantwich’s Olympic silver medallist Bryony Page helped the Wingate Centre to celebrate their 30th birthday in style.

Bryony, one of the centre’s Vice Presidents, hosted their 30th Birthday Sponsored Bounce which saw more than 40 people taking to the trampolines and bouncing over 27,000 times.

South Cheshire charity team prepares for Mount Kilimanjaro challenge

A big-hearted team of Crewe and Nantwich charity supporters are preparing to tackle the Mount Kilimanjaro challenge to raise much-needed funds.

Thirteen adventurers representing organisations including Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, Nantwich-based RedShift Community Hub, The Wingate Children’s Trust in Wrenbury and C.R.Y for Matthew, will set off on September 23.
