Members of Crewe and Nantwich RUFC completed an 86-mile challenge to raise funds for the Vagrants club and donate to the “We Love Manchester” fund.

Thirteen players and coaches from the club took on a cycle and walking mission starting in Carlisle and ending at Heddon-on-the-wall, near Newcastle.

Crewe & Nantwich’s winning streak was brought to an abrupt end at League leaders Bridgnorth, when they were beaten by five tries to one.

Bridgnorth, who are on roll in the Shropshire Cup and in Midlands 1 West, looked every bit like potential champions as their well drilled and balanced side overcame a spirited Crewe outfit.
