Another walk-in Covid vaccination clinic is to be held at Nantwich Civic Hall tomorrow (January 31).

Organisers say it will the last walk-in clinic there for some period of time.

Vaccines are available at the walk-in between 2pm and 7pm and today.

Vaccine decisions for Cheshire East children in care

Cheshire East is deciding on a case by case basis if children in the council’s care should be given the Covid vaccine if birth parents do not consent.

Annemarie Parker, head of service for cared for children and care leavers, told a corporate parenting committee that the local authority sought consent from the parents of cared for children aged 12 to 15.

Nearly two-thirds of Cheshire’s adult population have now had their Covid-19 vaccine, new data shows.

The statistics, from NHS England, show that up to April 4, 388,487 residents have had their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine — out of a population of 596,446 — representing 65% of the county’s over-16s.
