The event took place at The Cotton Arms pub in Wrenbury, near Nantwich, after moving location from the Elephant pub in Shavington.

Cheshire East Council chiefs have reiterated support for the planned HS2 route between Crewe and Manchester – but are calling for “world class mitigation” for the environment.

Phase 2b of the high-speed rail link is due to be built to the west of Middlewich and Knutsford – including through the Cheshire Showground in Tabley.

Students travelling to study at South Cheshire College from September 2017 will receive free transport in a new sustainability scheme.

All 16-19 year old students enrolled on a full-time course will be eligible to access free transport throughout the academic year.
