Acton youngsters made sure special memories of today will not be forgotten after burying a time capsule in the grounds of Acton C of E Primary Academy.

The school, near Nantwich, created a project which has preserved memorabilia from the Platinum Jubilee and school life in 2022.

The slate painting of Captain Tom Moore is to be reinstated on the town square in Nantwich after readers clamoured for its return.

The stunning picture, by Tony Denton, was awarded to the town as a tribute to the 99-year-old who has raised more than £28 million for NHS charities.

Wistaston pupils bury time capsule on new Wistaston Brook development

School children from Wistaston left their mark on history as they buried a time capsule at the village’s new housing development for future generations to discover.

Pupils aged 5 to 11 from Wistaston Church Lane Academy put a variety of objects in the capsule, from popular toys like Lego, a squishy and slime to a school uniform, coins, letters to their future selves.

Children from a primary school in Nantwich donned their hard hats to visit a care home building site – where they are planning to bury a time capsule!

Pupils from St Anne’s Catholic Primary School visited the site of Barony Lodge Residential Care Home in Barony Road to get inspiration for artwork to place in the time capsule outside the home, which will be run by Sanctuary Care.

Pupils at Brine Leas School in Nantwich have scooped tickets to this year’s Diamond Jubilee Commonwealth Day Observance in Westminster Abbey. Hundreds of schools and youth groups applied and Brine Leas won 20 thanks to the creativity of time capsule entries from students.
