Dear Editor,
The UK has import tariffs on oranges, bananas, olives, rice etc., that Britain does not produce domestically.

Why? To protect EU countries, who do produce them, from competition. We left the EU on 31/1/20.

Government to review tariff on Whitby Morrison ice cream van exports

A Government Minister is to push to end tariffs on exported ice cream vans made by South Cheshire firm Whitby Morrison.

International Trade Secretary Liz Truss is to seek an end to a 5% tariff on the vans which can cost up to £80,000.

Nantwich Town councillors have vowed to fight Cheshire East Council’s plans to increase car park charges in the town.

They say that Nantwich – and neighbouring Crewe – are being treated unfairly with some of the highest parking charges in the borough.
