South Cheshire business bosses have welcomed today’s Government announcement that Crewe will have an HS2 rail link and hub station open in the next 12 years.
The decision could create quarter of a trillion pound growth in the area’s economy, according to Cheshire East Council Leader Cllr Michael Jones.
The Government has today announced it will build the HS2 high-speed rail via Crewe – and will invest £5 billion to complete the project six years early.
Chancellor George Osborne made the landmark statement confirming the finalised route the HS2 project will take.
