Schools across Nantwich and surrounding villages will be hit by the national teachers strike this week. Several primary schools in the town are having to close some year group classes on Thursday (June 27), while others remain open.
Hundreds of public sector workers in Cheshire took to the streets of Crewe and Chester during the national strike. Members of many of the major unions were involved in the rallies through the town centres in a protest over Government plans to reform pensions.
Most schools across Nantwich will be closed tomorrow (November 30) along with public venues like Nantwich Baths as part of national strike action. All major teaching unions, including the headteacher’s NAHT, are involved in the strike which leaves thousands of youngsters in South Cheshire at home for the day.
Leighton Hospital bosses are urging Nantwich residents to help them cope with the national strike action. Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust say they are working on plans to limit disruption by industrial action on November 30.
