A street light left in a busy Wistaston road by developers is still there – despite council bosses pledging it would be removed “as a matter of urgency” two weeks ago.
Now a local pro-cycling group has hit out at Cheshire East highways, who say they are “satisfied” the light has been safely cordoned off.
Engineers have widened a road and built a new pavement in Wistaston – but forgot to move a street light while doing it!
Now baffled residents in the village near Nantwich have called on Cheshire East Council to shed some light on the embarrassing bungle.
The Highways Agency is investigating why two street lights were set on fire on a village road near Nantwich. Fire crews from Nantwich were called out to the incident in Chorley Green.
