TV vet Steve Leonard is the celebrity lined up to switch on the Christmas Lights in Nantwich this year. Leonard (pictured), who lives in Cheshire, is famous for hosting BBC shows including ”Orangutan Diaries” and “Vets in Practice”.
The RSPCA Stapeley Grange cattery in Nantwich is desperate for new homes to cope with rising numbers of abandoned and stray cats and kittens. Staff at the London Road facility fear the centre is reaching crisis point unless more people come forward to offer homes.
Nantwich residents are being invited to a Family Fun open day at Stapeley Grange wildlife centre this weekend. The RSPCA’s Stapeley Grange, on London Road, will host the annual event this Sunday June 23.
The RSPCA Wildlife Centre in Nantwich is in urgent need of volunteers to support fundraising, education and publicity. Stapeley Grange, on London Road, will be hosting a fundraising and education volunteer information night on Thursday January 31 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

A Nantwich mum and daughter have been invited to join the Queen at her Royal Garden Party in Buckingham Palace. Olwyn Payton, the PR assistant for Nantwich Sainsbury’s, received the invite in honour of her community and charity work.
RSPCA staff in Nantwich have been hard at worked nursing this injured red squirrel back to health. The protected mammal was taken to the Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre in London Road after being hit by a car.
