Nantwich Town’s season ended in defeat as they went down 3-0 to Stafford Rangers thanks to two penalties from Robert Thompson-Brown at the Weaver Stadium.
The Rangers midfielder netted a spot kick in either half with Tyrell Waite also scoring during the second period making it a day to forget for the Dabbers.
Nantwich Town’s disappointing end of season form continued when they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at already relegated rivals Stafford Rangers. The result continued a recent dip in form for the Dabbers which has seen them slip to 19th place, just two above the relegation zone.
Crewe & Nantwich RUFC 1sts are just one win away from a dramatic playoff final which could see them promoted. The Vagrants side, who beat Old Saltians 43-7 at the weekend, need to win away at Stafford this Saturday to secure their playoff final spot.
Coach Andy Brown praised the support that helped Crewe & Nantwich 1sts to an opening 29-21 league win against Stafford. And he is calling for similar backing as the Vagrants side aim for promotion to Midlands West 1 – its highest level ever.
