A children’s shoe recycling hub is being launched in South Cheshire with support from housing association The Guinness Partnership and charity Sal’s Shoes.

The hub will collect and redistribute school shoes to children living in the Crewe area.

A charity at the heart of the South Cheshire community for many years has issued a plea for help as income streams dry up because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Selling recycled furniture and running a café have helped fund charitable activities from St Paul’s Centre in Crewe for more than 30 years.

Beerdock boss raises £3,500 with The Buzzcocks guitar raffle

The boss of award-winning South Cheshire business BeerDock has raised £3,500 for local charities after selling a rare signed guitar used by the band The Buzzcocks.

Samuel McGarrigle, who owns and runs BeerDock, raffled the guitar signed by the punk band following the death of their lead singer Pete Shelley in December.
