A War Memorial outside the school on Welsh Row details the death of Private Griffiths, who was a former Malbank pupil, during the Great War.

A soldier from Cheshire’s 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment has been killed in an insurgent attack in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced the death this afternoon (March 26). The soldier’s name and where he is from has not been revealed.
