Full closure of A530 Middlewich Road until October, CEC confirms

There will be a “full closure” of the A530 Middlewich Road between Pyms Lane and Smithy Lane from May to October, Cheshire East Council has confirmed.

The closure is one of many disruptions facing motorists as work begins on the North West Crewe Package (NWCP) scheme over the next two years.

Works to prepare for the delivery of a major highways scheme near Leighton Hospital is underway – with the main works set to start by summer.

The North West Crewe Package (NWCP) will see a series of highways and junction improvements made to ease congestion and improve access to the hospital, as well as new and existing housing developments.

Visitors to Leighton Hospital are being warned of disruption as the main car park is to close down for six weeks.

The closure is to allow for refurbishment of the car park off Smithy Lane, says Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT).
