Leighton hospital is gearing up for the winter ahead following unprecedented A&E demand and delays last year.

The NHS trusts which control Leighton and Macclesfield hospitals presented their plans on how to improve winter A&E performance to a Cheshire East Council scrutiny committee.

Communities in Cheshire East will benefit from a share of a £2 million New Homes Bonus, with £324,000 allocated for Nantwich.

The cash is from a Government grant paid to councils as an incentive to build new homes.
