Did my ears deceive me or did Cllr Sam Corcoran, Leader of Cheshire East Council, inform his Cabinet (on Tues May 5) and his residents how marvellous it is to ride his bike on empty roads in lovely clean air?

Cheshire East Council chiefs have approved “one of the most ambitious” plans in the country centred on making Cheshire East carbon neutral by 2025.
The authority’s cabinet approved an environment strategy to respond to the ‘global threat’ posed by climate change at its virtual meeting yesterday (May 5).

In response to Cllr Sam Corcoran’s claim that Cheshire East is in the top 10% of the 314 English Councils for payments of grants made to small businesses*, I feel that it is my duty to point out that this is not the case, at least not in any meaningful sense.
Cheshire East Council has closed all its play areas to protect people following the latest clampdown by the Prime Minister to tackle the spread of COVID-19.
All play areas, outdoor gyms and skate parks were closed from yesterday (March 24).
