College students in Nantwich have planted thousands of bluebells to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Ten students from Reaseheath College planted 5,000 bulbs alongside the Crewe to Nantwich Greenway in Wistaston.

Reaseheath College’s rabbits and guinea pigs should be jumping with joy after students made special toys to keep them entertained. Animal management students at the Nantwich college have created enrichment boxes for the bunnies from cereal packaging and kitchen roll tubes with hay, shredded paper and healthy treats.

Hundreds of young trees were planted on a new rural corridor linking Crewe and Nantwich to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The trees, donated by The Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver, were planted by Reaseheath College students on the Crewe-Nantwich Greenway near the A530 Middlewich Road.

A Reaseheath College student has won a national competition for an essay suggesting how to breed beef cattle for a sustainable future. Emily Morris, 16, took first prize in the beef category of the British Cattle Breeders’ Club’s (BCBC) Student Essay Competition.
