Muller legal challenge of Cheshire East Local Plan thrown out by High Court

A developer bidding to build more than 1,000 homes in Nantwich, has had its legal challenge of Cheshire East Council’s Local Plan thrown out by High Court judges.

Muller Strategic Projects, who want to build the ‘Nantwich South’ village in Stapeley, had argued the authority’s Local Plan was void because irregularities over air quality data.

A public inquiry into Muller Property Group’s controversial “Nantwich South” housing plan in Stapeley is to be re-opened, the Government has ruled.

It’s the latest twist in a five-year battle between Muller, who want to build a 1,100-home ‘village’ on land off between Audlem Road and Peter de Stapleigh Way, and those campaigning against it.

Ruling on Muller Homes’ “Nantwich South” inquiry due in July

A Government decision on the controversial Muller Homes “Nantwich South” development in Stapeley is now expected in July. The Planning Inspectorate has revealed it is preparing  its recommendations to submit to the Secretary of State.

Parish council drops barrister plan for Muller Homes Nantwich inquiry

Parish councillors fighting the proposed Muller Homes “Nantwich South” development, have ditched plans to employ a barrister at a public inquiry. Stapeley Parish Council said it has made the decision on “the advice of its legal adviser”, but refused to clarify those reasons.

Parish councillors in Nantwich told dozens of residents how they intend to fight Muller Homes at a forthcoming public inquiry. Around 30 people attended a public meeting at Stapeley community hall to air their views before the inquiry on February 18.

Public inquiry set for controversial Muller Homes “Nantwich South” plan

A public inquiry into a controversial plan to build a 1,100-home “Nantwich South” village in Stapeley is to be held on February 18. Muller Homes wants to build the development, which could include business units, shops and a school, on land between Peter De Stapleigh Way, London Road and Broad Lane.
