Cheshire East residents look set to see an increase of 4.43% in the amount they pay towards policing.
If the increase suggested by Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer is ratified by the police and crime panel on Friday (February 4) that will mean an extra £10 a year on the police precept for a band D council tax payer across the county.
Cheshire Police has unveiled its new “community policing” model with “dedicated officers and PCSOs” in 122 community areas.
It will include new police bases in community and village halls in and around Nantwich.
Nantwich residents can have their say about road safety policing in a new survey launched by Cheshire’s police and crime commissioner David Keane.
He wants local residents to give their views on how safe the county’s roads are.
Officers in Nantwich say policing will be as high profile as ever at next week’s Nantwich Jazz festival.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to flood into the town for the five-day festival starting on Thursday April 18.
