By Jonathan White A cricket festival took place in Wistaston to celebrate a former player’s 40th birthday. Matches took place at Wistaston Village Cricket Club, Eric Swan Recreation Ground, in honour of ex WVCC player Julian West.
An accident at a busy roundabout in Nantwich caused traffic chaos today (May 26). The incident involved a car towing a caravan and a motorcyclist at the Peacock roundabout in Willaston where the A500 meets the A534.
This is the scene of today’s massive blaze at Alvaston Business Park which has caused traffic chaos in and around Nantwich. Firefighters were called to the fire at Garratt’s scrap metal yard, off Middlewich Road, at about 6am this morning (Oct 7). The fire was found to involve a large quantity of scrap metal which is on the site.
