The sale of Morrisons shows how valuable the business is, yet the supermarket continues to undervalue its shop floor workers.

If Clayton, Dubilier & Rice are willing to invest £7.1 billion in the supermarket, clearly they believe in the strength of the business.

Four new senior officers have been recruited and appointed by Cheshire East Council – with a combined pay of just under £500,000.

The need for agency staff has contributed to Leighton Hospital bosses forking out almost £2 million more on pay than they expected so far this year.

Directors at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which also runs Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst in Winsford, were given the trust’s latest financial figures 2018-19 at a meeting this week.

Cheshire East Council has more employees earning more than £100,000 than any other local authority in the north west, new figures have shown.

The TaxPayers’ Alliance has published its Town Hall Rich List for 2018 – showing the number of employees that received more than £100,000 in 2016-17.
