A Nantwich South bypass could become a reality to boost transport links in South Cheshire, admits Cheshire East Leader Cllr Michael Jones.

The bypass is one of a number of ideas council chiefs are now considering to boost infrastructure when the HS2 rail line opens in 2027.

Campaigners fighting Muller Property Group’s bid to build 1,100 homes in Stapeley, have a chance to push for a second public inquiry.

Secretary of State Greg Clark quashed the previous Government decision which rejected Muller’s appeal against Cheshire East Council’s decision to refuse planning permission.

Muller Property is to fight a Government ruling to throw out plans for a 1,100-home ‘Nantwich South’ village in Stapeley.

Councillors were told the news that the company has applied to have the case judicially reviewed by a judge in the High Court.

Campaigners fighting to prevent more housing development in the Stapeley area of Nantwich have launched a new website to encourage others to join the protest. The site, www.protectstapeley.org.uk, highlights fears over potential development of 1,300 homes on land between Broad Lane, London Road,  Peter De Stapleigh Way, and the bridleway known as Deadman’s Lane.
