A short commemorative film about Richard was also shown to the audience.

Nantwich Town will host North West Counties Premier Division side Whitchurch Alport in the annual Eddie Morris Memorial Cup on July 17.

The cup was set up last season in memory of the late Eddie Morris – a Dabber legend whose playing career featured Crewe Alexandra, Congleton Town and Witton Albion.

A commemorative service was held at the Royal Air Force’s Memorial at Bridgemere to remember the crew of a Wellington bomber which crashed near to the village.
