Leighton Hospital has received a “mark of approval” for treating patients with cancer.

The Macmillan Cancer Unit at the Crewe hospital run by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has become the 10th in the North to be awarded The Christie *Quality Mark.

South Cheshire’s cancer unit has been illuminated purple to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.

The Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital will be lit purple every evening in November as part of a campaign being run by Pancreatic Cancer UK for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

South Cheshire Macmillan Cancer Unit volunteers honoured

Volunteers at Nantwich’s local Macmillan Cancer Unit have won a national award for their long service in supporting cancer sufferers.

Gill Pass and Lorna Lakey were presented with a Bronze Five-Year Service Award for their time at Leighton Hospital’s Macmillan centre by Mayor Pam Minshall and Macmillan senior development manager Nicola Cook.
