A South Cheshire homeless shelter will be able to support more people giving them somewhere safe and warm to go following funding from police and crime commissioner.
The Lighthouse Centre in Crewe will open its doors on Thursday evenings, inviting those in crisis or at risk of rough sleeping to receive a warm meal, shelter for the evening, access to the washing facilities and breakfast for the following day.
South Cheshire firm Assurant has donated $10,000 to Crewe’s The Lighthouse Centre.
The donation aims to help the New Testament Church of God centre support its work for those in need in the town.
Staff at Crystal Legal Services hand delivered more than 32 gift boxes to the homeless in Crewe and Nantwich.
The donation was made to service users at the LATH Group, at the Lighthouse Centre on Stewart Street, Crewe.
