MP joins bid to have jail sentence of Joshua Spender’s killer reviewed

The MP for Crewe and Nantwich has written to the Attorney General calling for the jail sentence of Joshua Spender’s killer to be reviewed.

It comes as thousands have signed a petition calling for a longer jail term for William Bratton, who ploughed into Joshua on a crossing in Crewe and then sped away from the scene.

Crewe and Nantwich MP voted AGAINST Boris Johnson

Crewe and Nantwich MP Dr Kieran Mullan has confirmed he “could not support the Prime Minister” in last night’s confidence vote.

Boris Johnson won the vote, but more than 40% of his Tory MPs voted to remove him, which many feel has left him in a precarious position.

Tory Cheshire East MP Edward Timpson said Government leaders should lead by example and called it “shameful” those setting the rules did not follow them during lockdown.

Eddisbury MP Mr Timpson issued a statement after Prime Minister Boris Johnson apologised for breaking the rules when he was fined £50 following the police investigation into Partygate.

Former Crewe and Nantwich MP Laura Smith has said she will not be standing as Labour’s parliamentary candidate at the next general election.

Ms Smith won the seat from the Conservatives in 2017, beating sitting MP Edward Timpson by just 48 votes after three recounts.

Dear Editor,
None of us likes the thought of sewage in our rivers and on our beaches. It’s disgusting to look at, smelly and unhygienic.

It appears, however, that our MP, Keiran Mullan, disagrees with that, and presumably thinks that raw sewage in our rivers and coastal waters isn’t that bad.
