Villagers in Wistaston and Willaston are mourning the death of popular Revd Ken Sambrook.
Ken passed away on Wednesday (November 10) after a brief spell in hospital.
Crewe & Nantwich MP Laura Smith has called for better deals for Armed Forces personnel and their families at the annual Crewe Armed Forces Day yesterday (June 30).
She was among many hundreds who turned out for the annual event to pay tribute to men and women who currently serve or used to serve with any of the forces.
A Wistaston garden party in aid of Diabetes UK helped raise almost £700.
Sheena and Ken Sambrook staged the event in their house and front and back gardens.
By Jonathan White Villagers packed into St Mary’s Church in Wistaston for its annual civic service. The event was organised by Wistaston Parish Council, and guests included Mayor and Mayoress of Cheshire East, Cllr George Walton and wife Veronica.
Residents, councillors, and members of the Royal British Legion packed into Wistaston Memorial Hall for Remembrance Service. They were joined by members of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from the Wistaston 35th SWC Scout Group.
A Wistaston couple are opening their garden to the public to help raise money for diabetes sufferers. Sheena and Ken Sambrook, of Crewe and South Cheshire Voluntary Group of Diabetes UK , are staging their garden party on July 11.
