MP joins bid to have jail sentence of Joshua Spender’s killer reviewed

The MP for Crewe and Nantwich has written to the Attorney General calling for the jail sentence of Joshua Spender’s killer to be reviewed.

It comes as thousands have signed a petition calling for a longer jail term for William Bratton, who ploughed into Joshua on a crossing in Crewe and then sped away from the scene.

Mariujus Gruzinskas, 29, of Claughton Avenue, Crewe was sentenced today (Tuesday 28 August) after pleading guilty to conspiring to steal motor vehicles at Chester Crown Court on March 17.

The chairman of a timber company has welcomed a jail sentence for a former director from Nantwich who swindled the firm out of thousands of pounds.

Nigel Bacon (pictured), 53, of Newbold Way, was sentenced to 32 months in prison at Caernarfon Crown Court after he admitted defrauding Clifford Jones Timber, the UK’s largest manufacturer of fence posts.
