The Ministry of Defence is investigating claims a Nantwich soldier’s gallantry was “exaggerated” before he was awarded the Military Cross.
A report in a national newspaper suggests the actions of Lieutenant William Boreham, of 1st Battalion the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, may have been exaggerated, possibly without his knowledge.
A man and woman were rescued from a house fire in Nantwich today (October 27)
The blaze broke out in a property on Western Avenue, Nantwich, at about 4.30pm.
Cheshire Police are investigating why officers left their patrol car in a supermarket parent and toddler space. Shoppers were left fuming after the officers decided to leave their fully-liveried police vehicle in one of the marked bays.
