Nantwich Town warmed up for their first league game of the season away at Buxton with a 6-3 win over Cheshire League side Crewe FC.
Dabbers boss Danny Johnson named a near full strength starting 11, but brought in Terry Smith in goal for Steve Phillips.
Nantwich Town produced a determined display as they went down 4-1 at home to League One neighbours Crewe Alexandra.
More than 1,200 people packed in to Nantwich’s Weaver Stadium for the eagerly-awaited pre-season friendly.
