The number of fines issued to Cheshire parents who take their children out of school during term time has soared following a landmark court ruling.
Figures released by the Government show in 2017-18, Cheshire East Council issued 1,400 fixed penalty notices compared to 220 in 2016-17.
Nantwich Town have been found guilty and fined by the FA for breaching a rule over a player signing. The club had failed to comply with a procedural rule concerning the signing of Brian Summerskill, the FA concluded.
