A new service to help vulnerable and isolated people in Nantwich and Crewe has already recruited 11 big-hearted volunteers.

Cheshire fire crews will be rolling into Nantwich next week to offer drivers some winter advice. They are teaming up with other agencies to carry out free safety checks on cars as part of their campaign for safer roads in Cheshire.
A £7.5 million grant will help ease traffic congestion for thousands of Crewe and Nantwich drivers using junction 16 of the M6. The funds secured by Cheshire East Council will pay for widening and traffic signals on the northbound slip road and A500 approaches.
