I was greatly saddened to hear of the death of Honorary Freeman David Brickhill.

David was a remarkable man, who was an excellent long serving Councillor and a very loyal colleague.

Councillors in Shavington fear the closure of a main road in the village for 10 weeks will cause chaos in surrounding streets.

Work on the new spine road between the A500 roundabout and Gresty Bridge will mean the closure of the road in May.

Residents’ joy as slurry lagoon plans for village near Nantwich are ditched

Councillors and villagers near Nantwich are celebrating after controversial plans for a huge slurry lagoon near homes and a school were withdrawn.

The massive lagoon was planned for land off Eastern Road between Shavington and Willaston, close to Shavington High School.
