Eight men allegedly part of an anti-hunt campaign group were arrested by police after clashes at a South Cheshire trail hunt.
Officers were called after disturbances were reported at the Cheshire Hunt on Long Lane in Spurstow, near Nantwich.

Hunt supporters have continued their war of words with Cheshire’s police and crime commissioner after learning the county’s fox hunting review cost taxpayers £34,000.

Attempts to make sure hunts in Cheshire are planned and conducted lawfully have been labelled a “ridiculous waste of money” by pro-hunting campaigners.
The Countryside Alliance has accused David Keane, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), of having an ‘obsession with hunting’ and called on him to spend his force’s resources on tackling “real crime” instead.
More than 300 Reaseheath College students in Nantwich met with key organisations at a conference on animal welfare. Speakers from The Kennel Club, Blue Cross, RSPB, Countryside Alliance, Universities Federation for Animal Welfare, and North Wales Reptile and Raptor Rescue talked about legislation and welfare issues.
