Det Chief Insp Chris Ankers, from Cheshire Police, revealed the shock number to members of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s health and wellbeing board.

Assaults across Nantwich and Crewe have fallen by almost 12%, according to the latest statistics just released. But burglary in the Eastern Cheshire area is on the rise, going up 5%, the figures show.
