Two South Cheshire businesses have raised almost £400 by competing in a charity football match for Children in Need. Crewe & Nantwich Peugeot dealer Gateway Motor Company lined up against a team from Mornflake, Crewe Alexandra’s shirt sponsors.

Council chiefs have welcomed the move to bring Chris Evans’ CarFest North to Cholmondeley Castle, near Nantwich. Thousands are expected to attend the festival of cars, music and food in the castle grounds on September 8 and 9.
Crewe and Nantwich residents showed their support for Children in Need by raising £552 at a fun-packed show organised by The Cat radio. The evening, at Crewe Alexandra’s function room at the Alexandra Stadium, was supported by the Street Dance Academy who wowed the audience with fantastic routines.
Kind-hearted fundraisers across Nantwich and Crewe have raised bucket-loads of cash for the BBC Children in Need. The annual event, which has a “Show Your Spots, Let’s Raise Lots” theme this year, has kept hundreds busy collecting vital donations.
