Wistaston has won at the ‘Britain in Bloom’ (North West) 2021 awards for the third year in succession.
Wistaston in Bloom won a ‘Gold Award 2021 in the Town Category’ and Wistaston Conservation Group won a ‘2021 It’s Your Neighbourhood Award of Level 5 – Outstanding’ for the Joey the Swan parkland in Wistaston.
Doughnut fans are in for a sweet treat – Planet Doughnut is to open a new store in Nantwich town centre.
The company, which already has a store in Shrewsbury and Chester, will be taking over the outlet being vacated by sandwich and coffee bar Bloom & Bo on Pillory Street.

Volunteers for Wistaston in Bloom have blossomed this year after scooping the village’s first ever Gold Award at the ‘Britain in Bloom’ (North West) 2018 awards.
They received their certificate at a ceremony at the Southport Convention Centre on November 2.
Nantwich has scooped another Gold medal at this week’s North West in Bloom awards ceremony.
Delighted town councillors hailed the achievement and praised scores of volunteers and businesses involved.
The organisers of Nantwich Words & Music Festival believe there is something for everyone in this year’s amazing line-up.
The event, which runs from October 8 to 14, is now in its 11th year.
Volunteers helped Nantwich look bloomin’ marvellous when judges from the annual Britain in Bloom competition visited the town.
