A Nantwich businessman is to tackle a gruelling cycling challenge in France in memory of his dad.
Jez Touch, from Rare Earth Digital, will take on the challenging L’Étape Du Tour – a stage of the Tour de France open to amateurs and ridden on closed roads through the French Alps.
The third Alzheimer’s 100 charity cycling event will be staged in and around Nantwich this June.
The annual fundraiser is held in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, the organisation that is leading the fight against dementia.
The second Alzheimers 100 charity cycle ride will take place in Nantwich on June 7.
More than 200 cyclists will take part in a 25, 50 or 100 mile ride around the South Cheshire countryside in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
A British Transport Police officer is putting the wheels in motion for his next Nantwich charity cycle ride – which saw him raise more than £20,000 for Alzheimer’s Society in 2014.
Darren Greatbanks, who lost his dad Mike to Alzheimer’s in April this year, held the Alzheimer’s 100 cycle ride at the beginning of Dementia Awareness Week in May.
