14 quiz teams battle it out for Wistaston Fred Lorimer Trophy

Fourteen teams of four people battled it out in six rounds of questions at Wistaston’s annual quiz for the Fred Lorimer Trophy. Quiz-masters Peter and Christina Wainwright took charge of the event for the first time at Wistaston Memorial Hall, after Geoff and Sheila Armitage stepped down after more than 20 years.

A medal awarded to a Royal Navy hero from the second War of Independence in 1812, is to go on sale at a Nantwich auction. The medal is expected to fetch around £10,000 when it goes under the hammer at Peter Wilson auctioneers on Market Street November 27-28.
