Wistaston Holly Fair helps raise £1,500 for church

Almost £1,500 was raised at Wistaston Holly Fair in Wells Green Methodist Church. The event, which attracted hundreds of people, included a raffle to win a hamper of fair trade goods.

More than 170 people attended the Service of Remembrance at Wistaston Memorial Hall. Residents, parish councillors, members of the Royal British Legion, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from the Wistaston 35th SWC Scout Group all turned out in force.

A Christmas Fayre is being held at Richmond Village Nantwich later this month. The event, on Saturday November 26, will include more than 20 stalls displaying crafts and gifts together with a visit from Father Christmas, courtesy of The Rotary Club of Nantwich.

Families in Stapeley braved the cold to watch Nantwich TV star Ben Miller officially open the second phase of a new recreation area. Youngsters, mums, dads, and grandparents gathered next to Pear Tree Primary School to watch the comedian and actor cut the ribbon at the ceremony.
