The family of a cyclist who died in a collision near Nantwich, told how he had only just taken up cycling again after retirement. Stewart Roy Gandy, 65, from Wistaston, died after colliding with a lorry on the A530 Whitchurch Road at Baddington Bridge, Aston.
A man has been bailed in connection with the death of 65-year-old cyclist Stewart Gandy on the A530 near Nantwich. The 36-year-old man was arrested in Wigan and was quizzed by Cheshire Police officers.

By Jonathan White Fund-raisers amassed almost £1,500 for local causes at a popular “Holly Fair” in Wistaston. Hundreds turned out for the annual fair at Wells Green Methodist Church on Brookland Avenue.

By Jonathan White The 36th annual Wistaston Fireworks Display went off with a bang as hundreds of villagers came out to support the events. The event began with the judging of the children’s best pumpkin and best fancy dress competitions.
The Wistaston Community Council fireworks display takes place on November 2. The event, which starts at 6.30pm, is being staged at the Eric Swan Sports Ground (The Brittles) behind Wistaston Church Lane Primary School.
Teams are being invited to enter the annual quiz for the Fred Lorimer Trophy in Wistaston, near Nantwich. The quiz will take place in Wistaston Memorial Hall and Community Centre on Church Lane, Wistaston, on Tuesday October 22.
Firefighters had to rescue a man from his flat during a kitchen fire in Wistaston. Crews wearing breathing apparatus forced their in through a ground floor window of a block of flats on Mulberry Road where they discovered the man.
