A “Summer Celebration” held in Wistaston has helped to raise several hundred pounds for Diabetes UK.

Visitors enjoyed strawberries & cream, cakes, jams & chutneys, home-made breads, and home-made cards at the event in St Mary’s Church hall.

Work started today on repairing the ‘Church Lane chasm’ sink-hole in Wistaston – more than two weeks after it first appeared.

Cheshire East Council highways teams arrived on scene to begin the repairs after the sink-hole emerged on June 26.
