Village school near Tarporley to open new nursery from September

St Paul’s CE Primary School in Utkinton near Tarporley is launching nursery provision from September 2022.

It will be available for 2-4 years olds and will be led by an experienced Early Years teacher.

Pupils at Tarporley High School have helped to collect £1,000 worth of nappies to donate to Ukraine families fleeing their war-torn country.

They teamed up with eco-friendly baby care business Pura, based in Tattenhall, to donate the nappies of varying sizes to support Ukrainian families seeking refuge in Poland.

Tarporley choir Decibellas raises £2,500 for homeless charity

A South Cheshire choir has raised more than £2,500 for Chester’s homeless charity, Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH), from their latest concert.

Decibellas, a choir for upper voices based in Tarporley, raised £2,554 for CATH through ticket sales and a bucket collection at their concert at St Boniface Church in Bunbury.

Council chiefs say highways engineers “worked tirelessly” to complete works on the busy A51 at Wardle near Nantwich which was closed for 16 weeks.

Work to stabilise 750 metres of carriageway began in August and required the complete closure of one of the busiest roads in the borough.

Two members of SPAR’s team in Tarporley have run the Race for Life in memory of a former colleague – raising more than £2,000 in the process.

Kim Holden, 54, and Penny Kenyon, 52, who are both shop assistants at the SPAR store, completed the 10k Delamere Forest Cancer Research UK Race For Life in memory of former colleague Alison Lightfoot.

Employees at Boughey Distribution near Nantwich have helped raise almost £1,500 for Calveley Primary School – by increasing their daily step count by at least 1,000 every day!

All additional steps were turned into cash credits by the company and helped raise an impressive £1,443 for the local village school.
