The annual Acton Church Christmas Walk takes place on Sunday December 12.

The pre-Christmas walk will route through the grounds of Dorfold Hall to view the exterior of all and a walk up its driveway.

New glass doors officially opened at Acton church

Two large, hinged glass doors at the west entrance to St Mary’s Church in Acton were officially opened and blessed by Rev’d Canon John Malbon.

In his speech, prior to cutting a ribbon to officially open the new doors, Rev’d Canon John Malbon said that solid doors present a physical barrier to communication, they say ‘Keep out’.

Dorfold Hall Events Ltd has applied for a premises licence for regulated entertainment and alcohol for the showground on Chester Road, Acton.

The Anglican parish church, which was designated a Grade I listed building in 1967, is having repairs done to a section of parapet on the north side of the chancel of the church due to weathering.

St Mary’s Church in Acton has organised a self-guided and socially distanced “Follow the Star” walk on Sunday December 20.

The walk between 12-3pm has stars as interval markers to identify the route that departs the large free car park on Chester Road opposite to Dorfold Hall gardens.

The knitted poppies were made by members of the Haughton and Faddiley WI and the wooden poppies were made by church members Charles Hull and James Stott.
