Nantwich student wins £1,000 University of Worcester scholarship

A student from Nantwich has earned a £1,000 scholarship for outstanding academic achievement in his university studies.

Joshua Ollier was presented with the scholarship by the University of Worcester’s Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green, at a special ceremony.

Reaseheath College in Nantwich has been rated ‘Outstanding’ for overall experiences and progress of students by Ofsted in its latest report.

Nantwich parents are being urged to air their views on Cheshire East Council’s plans to change the way it funds school transport for those who need it.

Plans could include direct payments to eligible parents, only offering transport to pupils more than three miles from school, and changing its free transport policy for those with disabled parents.

Hundreds of youngsters enjoy Brine Leas School ‘Activity Day’

Brine Leas School in Nantwich opened its doors to 250 pupils from years 5 and 6 throughout Crewe and Nantwich for its annual ‘Activity Day’.

Youngsters opted for a range of practical activities – from making chocolate creatures to ceramic animals, to developing CSI skills in the laboratory, to designing, making and launching their own rockets.
